Minnesota families with children entering kindergarten through 12th grade (K-12) are required to show they have received certain immunizations (also called vaccinations) or an exemption. Learn more about the Minnesota K-12 Immunization Law.
Schools are required to report immunization data to MDH each year through the Annual Immunization Status Report (AISR). The AISR is a useful resource for monitoring immunization coverage rates in the state. More information on Minnesota’s immunization laws can be found on Vaccines for Infants, Children and Adolescents.
Healthy People 2030 vaccination goals call for 95% of kindergartners nationwide to have coverage of the measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine.
Percent of kindergartners fully vaccinated with DTaP, 2025-26 school year
"Percent vaccinated" includes students that have received all of the required doses of a given vaccine series per medically acceptable standards.
Source: Annual Immunization Status Report. DTaP: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis vaccine. To protect privacy, schools and school districts with enrollment counts of fewer than 10 students are not included and are indicated as 'suppressed'. Rates that are based on counts of fewer than 20 students are identified and indicated as 'unstable' and should be interpreted with caution. The rate may change dramatically with the addition or subtraction of a single student.

Source: Annual Immunization Status Report. DTaP: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis vaccine. To protect privacy, schools and school districts with enrollment counts of fewer than 10 students are not included and are indicated as 'suppressed'. Data blurring standards were used. Data blurring involves reporting a range of vaccination coverage rather than a precise percentage. For example, schools or school districts that report all or almost all of their students being fully vaccinated have vaccination rates displayed as >95%. Data blurring is used to limit sharing private health information on individuals. Rates that are based on counts of fewer than 20 students are identified and indicated as 'unstable' and should be interpreted with caution. The rate may change dramatically with the addition or subtraction of a single student.
